(By Pastor Larry Burkholder)

Jeremiah 10: 12

"He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion."

Obviously, these words do not agree with today' s evolutionists and their theory about how our world began.  This is also the reason why so many of the worldlings of today hate God and do what they can to distort anything to do with God ... even His Word.  Nonetheless, this is...

"God’s Plan - Redux"

Only in God's Word will we get the details on all He now wants us to know about Himself, ourselves, and His plan for all His creation.  His Word contains ''... the storyline revealing God’s intentions and purposes for His creation.  The Lord has gone on record, informing us how it all began: by His Word." (Gary D. Freel)  In watching a debate between one of our world's greatest scientific minds and one of God's greatest apologists, I saw how amazing the world's leading scientist just disregarded God's Word as presented clearly and concisely by this apologist.  Why did he respond in such manner?  He had no answer!  It seemed as if he was telling us: "Ignore God and you will be doing yourself a great favor."  But quite the opposite is true!

There are many Scriptural texts other than the Genesis account which reveal to us how God created our world in a literal six days.  In Psalm 8:3,4a we read: "When I consider thy heavens, and the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained:"  Then there is the text of Psalm 33:6 which reads: "By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of thy mouth."  And in John 1:3 we read: ''All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."  Then in Colossians 1:16 we read: ''For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him and for him:"  These are just a few.  I will allow you to do your own inquiry and find the almost innumerable references to creation being His and His alone.

"When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained:" which we find in Psalm 8:3 is what I believe a real convincer.  And if you were to read Psalm 33:6 again, you will find, as I did, an indication of the real power/authority of our Lord for we read there…  "By the breath of his mouth."

Those of you in attendance of my beginning series on the gospel of John will remember how that I sort of got stuck on John 1:3 as it is real clear support and evidence of who God is and the power He holds.  You and I cannot get our pets to obey with our voices!  He spoke and the world came into existence … it was all started by Him!

A fellow student was driving a car that I was in as we traveled to a prison ministry in a nearby local jail. Out of nowhere he slaps my knee and says: "Burkie!  Do you know that our God is so strong that by the very power of His word all we know exists and that by that same power it is held together.  If it were not for Him any two molecules could rub together in our universe at the wrong angle with the proper friction and our entire universe would blow up?"

I tell you this incident because it shows to each of us how trite in comparison are our problems and we get so caught up in these that they cause us sleeplessness, heightened nerves, and more serious health problems such as strokes and heart attacks.  When our God can control all that goes on in our world, things seen and things unseen, He certainly can control the problems in our own personal world.

In Revelation 4:11 we read: "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."

Beloved!  We do not need a "green new deal."  What we all need is a personal relationship with the God who created us and all that is about us.  We need to be recreated in Christ Jesus: "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

"For he (God) hath made him (Christ) sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." which we find written in 2 Corinthians 5:21.

Has the Creator of our universe re-created you in Christ Jesus?  Please give it some serious thought for without this re-creation we cannot enter God's Heaven.  You see, there is no sin in God's heaven which he has prepared for you and I if we have been born again.
