1 Timothy 2:1-4

Our study for this month should have some bearing on us as we approach another election of an American President.  We the people are a part of that process.  For the past year, most likely longer, we hear about the protests of thousands in our country that have, by-in-large, not been peaceful.  Disorder, dissension, and division have been the goals of many protests.   As of now, we are a little over a month from electing another president/vice president as well as other elected officials in our state and local governments.

All around us, and across the globe, chaos and destruction abound.  It does not look favorable or hopeful to many of us; but we need to always remember: GOD IS YET 0N HIS THRONE AND HE IS, AND WILL REMAIN, THE SOVEREIGN OF THIS HIS WORLD!

As believers we do have a recourse - aside from the ballot box alone.  It is found in our Scripture text of 1 Timothy 2:1-4 which reads: "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."

Believer, God is yet on His throne!  We must be reminded that we MUST pray and SHOULD pray.  Why?  Because we are up against Satanic forces who are out to destroy our country, the country we love, the country of our nativity; and these Satanic forces are out to destroy our country, our constitution, our bill of rights, and all other laws that have blessed our lives for these many years.

My challenge to all of us is PRAY FOR ALL WHO ARE IN AUTHORITY!  Why?  Because we need to maintain our freedom in order to live peaceable lives in godliness and honesty!

Yes, by all mean, do the right things as this will give us opportunities to be a witness for our Lord and to live peaceable and honest lives in godliness and honesty.

I challenge each one who reads this article to commit yourself to "pray and fast" one day each week beginning October 5 through November 5. Faithfully serving our Saviour until He returns, I remain…
